As we start to return to some sort of normality since being in Lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic, Doncaster town Centre is continuing to have a complete overhaul with an exciting new six screen cinema and five restaurant development lined up for Doncaster’s civic and Cultural Quarter.
Located next to CAST Theatre, the new cinema complex will frame Sir Nigel Gresley Square, providing additional attractions to draw people into the Waterdale Centre, with the new Damum Museum, Art Gallery and Library also located within Waterdale – the Urban Centre Masterplan, is heading to a successful completion.
When does the new development in Doncaster open?
Originally stated for Spring 2020, but ever since the UK National Lockdown caused a halt on all of our lives, the cinema and new museum is hoping for a Fall 2020 completion.
Tell me more about the new Doncaster Museum
The new museum will be the home to, Children and Adult libraries, museum and art gallery – with the Kings Own Yorkshire Light Infantry (KOYLI), a high-quality educational space, small and micro-business start-up space, training and conference facilities.
The new building will be called the Danum Gallery, Library and Museum. This was after Doncaster Council invited residents to put forward names and then vote for their favourite from a shortlist – I’m guessing Museum McMuseumface was a no, right?
